Dealers integrate with Gun Traders online firearm sales site

Prospective gun buyers may find it easier to get the perfect firearm after online marketplace Gun Traders Australia (GTA) introduced direct dealer integration into its classifieds platform, promising more listings, better performance and a system that doesn’t impose extra workload on gunshops.

The upgraded platform intergrates dealerships’ point-of-sale systems into the GTA website so that updated listing are automatically published, ensuring accuracy and timeliness while eliminating double handling.

As a result, it is expected to put more firearms and related products in front of online shoppers in Australia.

“Gun Traders Australia was built for Australia’s shooting community, and this next chapter is about giving dealers back their time,” GTA’s founder, Carly Parker, said.

The system will work for all dealers using the Tower Systems point-of-sale system, one already embraced by many dealers because it was built specifically for Australian gunshops and includes functions that help with compliance under local laws.

Tower Systems was involved in the development of the GTA integration, and its general manager, Gavin Williams, said he was grateful for the opportunity to be part of it.

“The firearms dealer community is important to us, and we will embrace any opportunity to help firearms dealers run more efficient and enjoyable businesses,” he said.

IT company Meshon was another key part of it, and its executive director, Andy Ansari, said the “focus has been on building a secure, reliable and user-friendly platform that helps Australian firearms dealers manage and promote their inventory more efficiently.”

The three-way collaboration meant that “we were able to build the tech around our industry,” Carly said.

She added that the fact that Andy is a hunter and shooter was invaluable, and he was able to add suggestions and insights that otherwise may not have come up — and at times these discussions had happened around the campfire on hunting trips.

The new GTA system also allows buyers to register an account so that they can save items, get a discount card, keep track of inquiries and more.
