It’s a very watchable and interesting production, and you can read our review of it here

“From ancient alchemy to the modern-day debates surrounding gun ownership, firearms have been an integral part of human history — shaping empires, wars and societies alike,” Malcolm says.

The Long and Short of Firearms ultimately asks: How have firearms, from their earliest designs to their modern counterparts, shaped our world?”

Malcolm also runs the History Hill museum at Hill End, NSW, and has made a series of documentaries looking at Australia’s gold-rush history, and these videos are also available on Beamafilm.

Beamafilm is a free service without ads for those who are members of a participating library

Alternatively, you can subscribe to the service for $7.99 a month or rent individual titles for $3.99.

Shows can be streamed to smart TVs and mobile devices using an app, or to a computer via your web browser.
