Aussie hunting TV series to debut in April!

Australians will at last see a locally made hunting TV series when Beyond the Divide screens on free-to-air television in April, and it starts with a bang as the hosts hunt Wapiti in New Zealand.

Presenters Rob Fickling and Andrew Koscielecki feature in the series, which will air on Channel 31/44 and possibly other local stations and they continue to negotiate for broader coverage.

Professionally produced, Beyond the Divide will cover many aspects of hunting down under, and the makers have consciously produced it to score an M rating that allows it to air at more family friendly times.

Rob Fickling said the show would strive to show the whole experience of hunting and capture the unique appeal of being out in nature as a hunter.

“I am sure Beyond the Divide is going to give great exposure for our sports and passions and I guess the most important thing is that everyone who is pro-hunting knows about it and has a look,” Rob said.

The 10 programs for the first series are ready to air and production has already started on the second series.

Series one includes hunts in five Australian states and territories, as well as NZ, British Columbia and South Africa, with a huge range of target species.

Channels 31 and 44 will show Beyond the Divide in the major cities, but regional coverage will be patchy until more outlets pick it up.

“To get the show on in regional areas, it’s also important that people go to the website and subscribe to the show,” Rob said. “This gives us a way to track interest by state and is great for providing the networks with a gauge of interest.”

To encourage people to use the website, Rob is running various competitions through it.
