Illegal gun importation and media’s hunter bashing continue

Gun Crime. Is it any wonder that illegally imported guns appear to be flooding into Australia, fuelling the gang-related shootings in Sydney and more recently in Brisbane, as reported by ABC News online. This report says that $60 million has been cut from the border security budget in Australia, drastically lessening inspection of incoming air and sea transport for all manner of illegal items, including guns.
While the Greens and their supporters keep peddling the notion that private LAFOs are the source of a majority of firearms used in crime, Blind Freddy can tell you it’s our porous borders that are abetting the recent spate of firearm-related gang violence.

Populist media bashes prospective National Park hunters. While Channel 10’s “The Project” is an entertaining, snappily-produced ratings goldmine for its network, those achievements sometimes come at the expense of fair and objective reporting. Nowhere is this more apparent than with the current barney based on the use of volunteer licensed hunters in NSW National Parks assisting in the control of feral pests.
Last night the panel, excepting voice in the wilderness Steve Price, presented a hatchet job on the whole concept, based on commentary from a Green MLC Cate Faerman. Have a look at this video link to see just how prejudiced the fourth estate can be.
