Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall Brags About Running Deer Over

If any hunter or member of the public admitted or filmed themselves purposely running down four deer in their car, they could serve up to 6 months in jail or face a very hefty fine under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979.

Minister for Agriculture Adam Marshall did just this at the NSW Farmers 2019 Annual Conference. Adam Marshall bragged and chuckled about running down four deer on the road to Emmaville.

GameCon summarised the incident perfectly this week on their Facebook page.

The RSPCA would come knocking at your door and then police would seize your firearms. Animal Rights zealots would be up in arms and pile on.

This is the same Minister who:

• Just a few weeks ago supported the Animal Justice Party and Greens in trying to ban circuses.
• Has got probably the worst driving record out of any Australian MP.
• Joined with other National party Colleagues to ban Greyhound Racing and Recreational Fishing.

This Minister must be sacked.

• Adam Marshall brags and then chuckles about running down four Deer on the road to Emmaville when speaking at the NSW Farmers 2019 Annual Conference.
• Ray Hadley roasted Minister Adam Marshall about his driving record. The worst driving record in government.

Wouldn’t most reasonable people find such an attitude strangely disturbing, because he seems to find injuring and killing wild deer amusing? No indication is given that he had any concern about the welfare of wild animals he ran over.

Is Minister Marshall familiar with the following POCTA regulations?

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1979 No 200 Current version for 1 July 2019 to date

14 — Injuries to animals to be reported:
The driver of a vehicle which strikes and injures an animal (other than a bird) shall not fail:
(a) where, in consequence of the injury, pain has been inflicted upon the animal—to take reasonable steps to alleviate the pain,

Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units or imprisonment for 6 months, or both.

The Killens Smash Repair said that Kangaroos are a huge problem and sometimes Pigs are involved in accidents. “Deer collisions are pretty rare around here”.
