There is evidence to suggest that the NSW Firearms Registry database of gun licence holders may have been hacked.

Shooters Party warns Police about probable hacking

In a recent communiqué from Robert Brown from the Shooters and Fishers Party to the NSW Police Minister, concern was expressed about evidence suggesting some recent gun robberies pointed to the Firearms Registry records being hacked into. He went as far as to suggest an investigation into the cause of recent robberies.

When this is combined with the new ammunition control laws, where gun shops will be keeping licence holders’ records, it does not augur well for the personal security of all NSW law-abiding shooters.
