TDAC response to Idaho case

I don’t go out of my way to report anything negative to do with the shooting or hunting community. Rather I will post pieces where shooters and hunters have positive results in politics and community life because the mainstream media seems to be doing quite a good job of trying to destroy our pasttime.

There are other shooting sites and forums out there that also post anything and everything to do with shooting, negative or positive, in order to raise general awareness in the shooting community  and that is commendable.

In this particular instance however, the mainstream media has been all over the “three Tasmanian poachers” issue, where these self-interested criminals were apprehended committing cardinal crimes in the Idaho wilderness in the out of season shooting of an elk, removing the skull and antlers, leaving the carcass to rot and baiting and shooting wolves illegally. In a break from my normal practice, I believe this needs publicity, particularly due to the positive outcome for ethical game managers and hunters.

The Tasmanian Deer Advisory Committee have asked me to publicise the letter of support they recently sent to the Idaho Fish and Game Department, whose incredibly conscientious rangers conducted the surveillance and apprehension operation on these malcontents.  I think that Australian ethical hunters everywhere will totally support the sentiments expressed therein.
