SK’s state of the art rimfire ammo

Here’s a new line of rimfire ammo which not only meets CIP industry standards, but exceeds them! Made by Lapua-Germany SK rimfire ammo opens up a whole new ball game for .22 LR shooters.

THROUGHOUT ITS 120 year history the .22 rimfire has been the calibre most often selected for the first firearm for a youngster; for plinking and the hunting of small game; and for smallbore target competition. The .22 rimfire is the most highly developed cartridge of any, and has now reached its most highly refined form.

Today, rimfire smallbore cartridges are available in a wide spectrum of power, from the BB Cap through the Short and Long to the .22 Winchester Magnum and the .17 Mach 2 and .17 HMR. But still the most popular is the .22 Long Rifle which is made in many different
forms – Subsonic, Standard Velocity, High Velocity, Hyper Velocity and various Match-Target loads – and there’s any number of different makers worldwide.

In view of all the different brands of .22 rimfire ammo available, it’s hard to imagine any new range that would be unique. In 1992, SK Jagd Sportmunitions was formed after the manufacturing section of Anhaltinische Chemische Fabriken GmbH was separated from the parent company of Sellier & Bellot. The new company initially acted as a subsidiary of Lapua of Finland. In 2004, however, these two companies were amalgamated to form a new company Lapua GmbH with the plant located in Germany. The excellence of SK Match Gold, Match 50 and Biathlon ammunition has seen its increasing use by top shooters worldwide.

Nioa Trading sent me samples of SK rimfire ammo for evaluation. Discovering that it was made by Lapua GmbH in Germany guaranteed that it would be something special.
