Leupold BX-3 Alpine HD binoculars

Leupold’s new BX-3 Alpine HD builds on the strong reputation of the original entry-level BX-2 Alpine HD, with a noticeable step forward in both optical performance and overall design.

The BX-3 Alpine HD delivers an increased field of view over the previous model, making it easier to scan larger areas when glassing.

Edge-to-edge clarity has also been improved, helping maintain image quality across that wider field of view.

Light transmission has seen a boost as well, a key advantage when glassing in low light, particularly at first and last light when game is most active.

These updates build on what was already a well-regarded optical platform, refining its performance without pushing it into a higher price bracket.

Leupold has reworked the chassis, now using a magnesium construction that reduces weight while improving durability.

The updated armour texture and refined internal components give the binocular a more solid, premium feel in the hand, while subtle aesthetic changes provide a fresh look.

One of the more practical upgrades is the inclusion of interchangeable eyecups, a feature previously reserved for higher-end models like the BX-4 Pro Guide Gen2. This addition allows users to tailor-fit for size and comfort, including the option of winged eyecups for extended glassing sessions.

Overall, the BX-3 Alpine HD is a well-considered update that improves usability, comfort and optical performance in a proven mid-tier platform. Available in 10×42 or 12×50 configurations.
