Well, in my day we called them a “jaffle iron” but that’s just semantics in a rapidly changing world where language adapts. After all we don’t speak Latin anymore.
So the ARB Toastie is brilliant marketing for Australia’s biggest 4WD retail chain, who happily support the shooting and hunting sports. We love these guys. Short story – was in Myrtleford the other day with a cockie who wanted to get a replacement tractor tyre from the ARB store there and I looked all over town for some rechargeable 18650 batteries for my torch. Well, I should have just started at ARB, because they were the only place in town that had them.
Back to the toastie, it does what it promises ie cooks a very nice toasted sandwich on a gas ring or on coals – and it leaves the ARB logo emblazoned on your sambo – brilliant. In fact, the missus and I had toasties for dinner the first night I brought it home and they are a regular Sunday night treat in our new empty nest.
