Rob Fickling and Clark McGhie take a break during filming of the new series of Beyond The Divide.

Beyond The Divide Is Back!

Hunting TV returned to Australian television screens this week, with the first of ten episodes of series 2 of the ground-breaking television show ‘Beyond The Divide’ screened on Channel 31 in most capital cities. According to producer Rob Fickling, there has been a fantastic response from the Australian hunting community to the first episode, which featured some stunning footage of tahr hunting in the southern Alps of New Zealand. “Lots of viewers have already contacted me to say they’ve been inspired to undertake a tahr hunt of their own”, says Rob. “That’s great, but I have to warn them – the weather won’t always be as kind as it was to us”, he laughs.

I’ve been lucky enough to have had a sneak peek at the second episode too, and I can guarantee it is of an equally high standard, presented in Rob’s informative style and complemented by top-shelf camera work.  I can also tell you that after Rob has had his fill of tahr and chamois in the Shaky Isles, he returns to Australia to hunt scrub bulls, pigs and buffalo in later episodes.

You can check out a trailer for the series and the screening times HERE or, if you live in regional Australia, Beyond The Divide can be streamed on-line from the networks. While you’re on the BTD website, there are some great prizes up for grabs on their competition page. Enjoy the show!
