When it comes to hunting, Sporting Shooter editor Marcus O’Dean would have to be the most tinny bloke I know. Somehow, he always seems to find himself in the right spot at the right time. As an example, he was out of the office last week, supposedly to attend the Brisbane SHOT Show. He was “working”, he said. Then an email hits my in-tray with a photo of Marcus sitting on the ground next to a bloody great red stag. Apparently Marcus found time in amongst all his work to sneak out with well-known Sporting Shooter contributor Ted Mitchell Snr for a quick hunt. It just so happened that Marcus was successful in shooting a deer – but not only that it was an impressive 5 x6 red stag and bigger than anything Ted has taken in many years of hunting this particular property!
Well done Marcus – we all look forward to reading the full story in an upcoming edition of the magazine – I hear that Ted has it pretty much finished already!
