Hunter’s Diary: Vortex winners announced!

The winners of our 2023 Extravision Hunter’s Diary competition have each won a quality Vortex hunting optic after their short stories were published in Sporting Shooter magazine.

First prize of a Vortex Razor HD LHT 3-15×42 rifle scope, with HRS-5i MOA reticle and worth $2200, was Doug Vickery, whose story “Kitty skittles” was published in the December issue. That’s Doug’s picture at the top of the post.

The Vortex Viper HS 4-16×50 with BDC-2 reticle, worth $1250, was won as second prize by Scott McCahon. His story, “The journey is the trophy”, ran in the January 2023 edition.

Third prize was awarded to Anthony Haraldson, who wrote “Lunchtime score” in the February 2023 edition. He won a set of Vortex Diamondback HD 8×42 binoculars worth $490.

We thanks them all for their entries and also Extravision for its support of the competition.

In 2024, you too could win some terrific hunting prizes, this time courtesy of Hunting Depot, which is offering Vanguard products. Find out all about it here.

All you need to do is write a short hunting-related story and include a good photo and you could be in the running.
