HuntFest organisers are expecting a big crowd at the upcoming HuntFest festival, to be held at the Narooma Sports and Leisure Centre over two days of the June long weekend (June 7-8).

According to an article on the HuntFest website, one of the features of HuntFest is the photographic and video competition with amateur and professional sections, the winning entries of which will be on show during the event.

“The scope of the event has been extended to encompass a far greater range of interests besides firearms related activities like hunting and target shooting,” HuntFest coordinator Onno de Smeth said.

With a larger outdoor area being available this year, the organisers have been able to secure exhibitors to include interests such camping, outdoor cooking, ATV and UTV vehicles, 4WD equipment, boats and kayaks, knife making, archery and hide tanning.

There will be a contained archery range, which will give people a chance to fire arrows at close targets under supervision of professionals as well as a full bow service facility available for those who already have archery equipment in need of repair.

Indoor exhibits include firearm and knife displays, hunting and target shooting equipment, reloading equipment, archery and bow hunting supplies, pig dogging equipment, GPS equipment and programs, hunting outfitters and guides, hunting clubs and camping accessories.

There will demonstrations of game skinning techniques, butchering of game animals, field processing and preserving of game meat.

Some skill workshops will include how to whistle a fox, hunting with a quad bike, hunting with ferrets, hunting sambar deer and GPS operations.

A children’s colouring-in competition will again be held over the two days of the event with the best entries judged at the end of the final day.

Food and beverages will be available from a range of vendors.

Entry price is $10 for adults and children under 16 are free. For more information click HERE.
