Potlach, Idaho is seeking to prosper through the establishment of gun manufacturing.

Idaho town welcomes gun makers

While we had the magnificent Small Arms Factory at Lithgow for most of last century and Omark’s now-closed Sportco factory in South Australia, there are certain states, like Montana, and towns, like Potlach in Idaho, who welcome the thriving gun and ammunition manufacturing sector into their communities.

The gun-friendly communities in the USA appear to have lower crime rates and healthy employment figures, whereas places like Washington DC, with amazingly high gun crime rates have the most restrictive private gun ownership laws. It’s an interesting paradox borne out in a similar analysis of violent crime in the UK. In other words, the more legal guns there are in a modern democratic community, the less violent crime occurs.

With CCI already having an ammunition manufacturing plant in Potlach, the city administrators are keen to invite more similar enterprises, due to their injection of employment and local prosperity these proven good corporate citizens bring.
