An international hunting video competition has opened, offering a series of prizes including a Beretta Ultraleggero shotgun and BRX1 straight-pull rifle.
The Monocular Hunting Video Awards of 2022 are open to professional and amateur video producers from all over the world, including Australia, with four categories: hunting clip, hunting video, professional hunting video and a community award.
Run by Danish agency Monocular, which specialises in the hunting industry, the awards “celebrate the hunting community and the storytelling surrounding hunting,” according to a statement by the agency.
“We want to recognise all the wonderful stories and aspects from hunting, give back to the hunting community and help showcase their passion.”
The hunting clip category is open to “short, raw and unedited hunting clips” and will be decided by popular vote.
The hunting video award is for longer, edited videos, though there is no specified maximum or minimum length. It too will be decided by popular vote.
The professional video award is for “the most outstanding and inspiring work hunters make professionally” and will be judged by a jury appointed by the organisers. Production values and other aspects will be assessed more closely than in the other classes.
The Community Honour Award will “recognise and celebrate a hunter who has made a positive impact to the hunting community this year”. The Monocular is inviting people to nominate candidates for the award.
Beretta is the major sponsor of the hunting video awards and has put up the main prizes.
As well as its premium Ultraleggero shotgun and newly released BRX1 centrefire rifle, Beretta has put up a substantial package of clothing and accessories.
On top of these three prizes, co-sponsor RWS has provided four driven hunt packages of ammunition and accessories.
Entries close on 8 January 2023.
