Due to the total collapse of Labor and the Greens at the recent Queensland Election, the KAP, while garnering two seats cannot exert much influence over the CLP led by Campbell Newman, due to their overwhelming majority in parliament.
Katter supporters should not lose hope because, come the Federal Election, the KAP looks like it will gain seats from Labor’s heartland to be a balance of power player. Thankyou Carbon tax and Labor’s broken promises and flippant overspending, which has alienated hard workers who struggle to put food on the table. Katter’s policies go right to their kitchen tables and this will mean unprecedented support at the ballot box.
See the 2UE article / David Oldfield interview and the Australian Financial Review analysis of what the future holds federally for the KAP. It’s encouraging and fascinating.
