Proceeds from the Big Boar Championships will be donated to the Wandering Warriors.

Nominations closing for the Big Boar Championships in Queensland.

Astute readers of the Sporting Shooter website may remember we ran an article back in August about how VC winner Ben Roberts-Smith had endorsed the Queensland Big Boar Hunting Championships.  If not, you can see the orginal article HERE. Essentially the Championships are all about raising money for the Wandering Warriors (a very good cause), while at the same time having fun and showing the government how effective hunters are at ridding the country of feral pests.

Well, this is a reminder to all those keen pig hunters who’d like to participate that nominations for the three day hunt are closing soon. In fact, you’ll need to get your nomination in by October 23, 2014, which also happens to be the first day of the competition. It’d be a shame to miss out on $20,000 worth of prizes, including seven brand new firearms, just because you didn’t fill out the paperwork on time. Remember, you can enter by yourself ior in a team, and you can hunt with firearms, dogs or a bow. You can also hunt anywhere you have permission, as long as you can deliver fresh, sweet smelling pigs to the weigh in. And the more pigs you get, the more chance you have of winning Pig Lotto, as well as Heaviest Boar, Heaviest Miss Piggy, Heaviest Total Pigs, Smallest Piglet, Longest Tail, Biggest Tusk, Biggest Pig’s Ear and the most Snouts.

You can find more information HERE, or nominate on-line HERE.
