The September issue of Sporting Shooter is on news-stands now! Editor O’Dean has excelled himself again, producing another mag that’s jam-packed full of great hunting and shooting stories and information.
The lead story, as the cover suggests, is a piece by gun guru Nick Harvey all about hunting the very pretty chital deer in Queensland. That is followed by a great ‘how to’ article by new writer Alex Croft, telling how to make great sausages from game meat. Then there’s an article by yours truly about hunting rabbits – my three sons and I have been doing a lot of that lately. Craig Chapman gets in close on some pigs with his shotgun. Then, finally, Brendan Jones tells hunters what not to do when there’s a bit more water around than you expected.
In product news, Nick Harvey reviews the CVA Apex break-action centrefire, while we also tale a good look at Nieto hunting knives, Bob Penfold’s new book about trophy hunting, and a nice, compact mini linisher that sharpens knives to perfection.
This is all, of course, in addition to all our usual departments, technical info, product information, photo competitions and more. Get down to your local newsagent or gunshop and grab your copy. Better still, subscribe HERE.
