Pig dogger bites back
First up we have an article from the Canberra Times in which well-known pig hunter Ned Makim waters down some of the baseless assertions from anti-hunting activists. Pig hunting with dogs is ethical and humane, says Ned. Good to see someone on the front foot!
More vandalism by activists
Staying with the Canberra Times we have this article detailing yet more vandalism of public property in the ACT by animal activisists upset with the government’s on-going kangaroo cull. I wouldn’t have thought that was a great way to get what you want?
Hunters raising money for charity
From the Maitland Mercury comes a great news story about the Hunter Bowmen raising nearly $3000 for the local palliative care centre. Way to go guys! I wonder when the last time was that an anti-hunting group did something so constructive?
Mazza still punching in WA
From Farm Weekly in the west comes news that Shooters and Fishers Party Upper House member Rick Mazza is still in there fighting for WA hunters. This time he’s put the kibosh on increases to firearm licence fees – again.
Funds for Vic shooters
Lastly, Field and Game Australia has welcomed an announcement from the Victorian State Government that they will put $12,5 million towards securing and upgrading shooting ranges in that state. That’s great news for shooters and hunters in the deep south.
