TSA joins SIFA, strengthening Australian gun industry

The Sporting Industry Foundation of Australia (SIFA) has grown stronger as it approaches its tenth anniversary, with the addition of TSA Outdoors as a patron member.

TSA represents a number of well-known shooting brands in Australia, including Fiocchi ammunition, Weatherby firearms, Otis gun care, and ZeroTech Optics.

SIFA CEO James Walsh said TSA’s patron membership signalled a significant expansion of SIFA’s reach and resources which will only strengthen the organisation’s mission, and further reinforce its aims and objectives.

“TSA’s membership of SIFA means that they, like SIFA’s existing members, are now unified for the common good. This will see SIFA strengthened and better placed to safeguard the future of the Australian shooting industry,” he said.

TSA managing director Aaron Millard said joining SIFA marked an important milestone for the family-owned and operated business, which has been operating in Australia for nearly six decades.

“Our company fully embraces and aligns with SIFA’s mission, objectives and values,” he said.

“We recognise the important initiatives undertaken by SIFA since its inception in 2014 and it is truly a privilege for us to collaborate with fellow SIFA members and major industry stakeholders to safeguard the future of our industry and sport for future generations.”

SIFA represents the $2.4bn shooting industry in Australia via high-level advocacy and representation, and includes Nioa, Beretta Australia, Winchester Australia and now TSA among its members.

Mr Walsh said TSA’s location in NSW expanded SIFA’s legitimacy in the state and would allow SIFA  to advocate more effectively there too.

“TSA is a well-known and big wholesaler; they’ve got significant growth plans that align with our strategic direction. We look forward to helping them meet their goals and helping with their growth,” he said.

“SIFA patron members are the upper echelon of membership; they are heavily invested in the industry and contribute to SIFA and return funds to the industry.

“The work SIFA does benefits everyone but not everyone contributes, and that’s why it’s so important to have forward-thinking patron members who see the bigger picture.

“We are absolutely ecstatic to have a major player like TSA becoming a SIFA patron member and look forward to doing great things for the shooting industry with their support.”
