Matt from NIOA explains how the Western Australian Police can ban the importation of normally legal firearms if they think they look too much like a prohibited weapon.

VIDEO: WA Firearms imports based on “appearance”.

This is another very entertaining video from our friends at NIOA, but it deals with a serious issue. The crux of that issue is that the Western Australian Police are making decisions about whether or not certain firearms can be imported into that state based on what they look like. More specifically, some normally legal Category B firearms are being banned because they look too much like prohibited Category D firearms.  It’s a level of sheer idiocy that has seen some firearms allowed into Western Australia, but different models of the same firearm prohibited.  Have a look while Matt from NIOA explains – and not without a good dose of sarcasm and ridicule. At the end of the clip there are some contact details for the appropriate Member of Parliament so that you can urge her to correct this situation.
