Q I’ve been looking for a high-quality compact scope in the 2- 7x32mm class to put on my new Winchester Model 70 Featherweight. I don’t want a Chinese scope, but I do want a standard duplex reticle. What do you recommend?

A: You won’t go wrong with either a Leupold VX-2 2-7x33mm Matte Duplex or a Bushnell Elite 3500 with 2-7x32mm Multi-X reticle. I am all in favour of lighter, more compact scopes for hunting rifles, especially light sporters. Most of my hunting rifles have nothing larger than a 3-9×40 scope.‚Ä©
