The Remington Model 700 Alpha 1 is now available in Australia offering modern key features that are claimed to be second to none.Â
These include a tool-less takedown firing-pin assembly, round receiver, fluted 5R barrel, threaded muzzle, precision-ground recoil lugs, Timney Elite Hunter straight trigger, AG composite carbon-fibre stock and an array of other custom features that will maximise the performance of present day ammunition.
It weighs around 3.4-3.5kg, and its fluted barrels are 22″ long for short-action calibres and 24″ long in the .270, .30-06 and magnums.
Magazine capacities are generally four rounds, but it is five in .223 and three rounds in magnums.
Additional design elements make this new Model 700 Alpha 1 an excellent choice — like an enlarged ejection port, one-piece spiral-fluted bolt body with changeable bolt handle, a Pachmayr recoil pad and aluminium Oberndorf-style trigger guard.
Equipped with a Picatinny rail mount, the Alpha 1 is available in .223 Rem, .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, .270 Win, .308 Win, .30-06, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Win Mag.
Ask to see them at your local gun shop or visit the NIOA website for further details.
