Victoria’s Kiara Dean and Renae Jones came together with South Australia’s Molly Bretag to form the Trap Women Junior Team for Australia and claimed the bronze medal against USA Team, 6 points to 3.

Qualifications saw a total score of 196/225 for the team, putting them in third position leading into the final. In the final, the trio had a battle early on with both teams getting to 3 points each before Australia took out the next 3 points straight, ending the Bronze Medal Match and winning the bronze medal.

The athletes competed in their individual events just yesterday where Dean secured her first medal of the competition with a silver in the Trap Women Junior event. Although Dean and Jones have both competed internationally, this is Bretag’s first time at an ISSF international competition and as did the team, fought hard to steady the nerves throughout the day and come out as a team with the bronze.
