The Shooting Industry Foundation of Australia (SIFA) has appointed Keith Drain as the organisation’s new communication and policy manager.
Keith, who is replacing SIFA’s retiring policy and research manager David Voss, is an industry veteran with more than 14 years communication and marketing experience in the shooting, primary production and outdoor industries.
He has previously worked for Abela’s Gunshop in Sydney, served as the state organiser for NSW Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party (SFF), and most recently has been communications manager at the Australian Meat Industry Council.
SIFA CEO James Walsh said Keith would focus on overseeing SIFA’s communications and addressing key policy issues affecting the firearms industry; and the organisation was excited to welcome him aboard.
“Keith is well known in industry; he has been around for a while, and is experienced in both politics and working in industry associations,” he said.
“It’s evident he is highly respected — we’ve been swamped with praise regarding his appointment.”
SIFA represents the interests of the shooting industry throughout Australia, particularly firearms importers, wholesalers and dealers.
It is particularly active working with the commonwealth and state governments regarding legislative and regulatory issues affecting the legal firearms trade in the country.
