The October issue of Sporting Shooter has now hit the stands and, as usual, it’s a cracker. Editor O’Dean has excelled himself again, with an awesome array of hunting and shooting articles and information.
Our lead article, as the cover shows, is one by our very own Tony Pizzata, who tells us how to hunt feral goats in the gorge country. In other hunting pieces, Brenton Mitchell teaches us how to hunt goats and foxes with a bow, while Matt Foster takes his kids hunting for foxes with some wildcat calibres. Uncle Nick finishes his two-part piece on hunting sambar deer, while regular contributor Ted Mitchell enlists a quad bike to help him catch a pumpkin eating red deer.
In our ‘how to’ section, Marcus tells us about the best ways to shoot ‘off hand’, in the third of his series on field shooting positions. Meanwhile Alex Juris shows us how to capture that perfect game animal photo. Who knows, follow Alex’s tips and you might end up gracing the cover as often as he does!
In product reviews, Uncle Nick runs his very experienced eye over Winchester’s new Model 1885 Low Wall Hunter in .17WSM and the Miroku Mk 11 under and over shotgun. We also test the new Zeiss Conquest DL 3-12 x 50 illuminated riflescope and some Brunox gun cleaning products.
All of the above plus all our regular departments and competitions makes this an issue not to be missed. Better get down to your local newsagent or gunstore and grab a copy!
