Sporting Shooter magazine April 2024

Sporting Shooter April issue on sale now!

The latest edition of Sporting Shooter magazine contains tests of the Lithgow LA102 Hunter, Derya lever-action .22 and the versatile little Nikko Stirling Octa 1-8×24 rifle scope, plus a lot more, and it’s available in newsagents or online.

We go into extra detail in the magazine review of the new and lighter Lithgow Hunter rifle, and we’ve got the first test of the terrific new Derya, a fun and fast-shooting rimfire that costs only $895.

As for the Octa, it’s 8x zoom ratio is brilliant, and it makes this 1-8x scope incredibly good for close-range, quick shooting as well as good for medium-range shot at typical hunting distances.

Ted Mitchell is back this issue with a great yarn about a two-week trip up north chasing buffalo, boars and barramundi, with a chital deer and dog thrown in for good measure!

In one of the last article Nick Harvey wrote before he passed away, we look at evidence that there may still be barasingha deer wondering our forests. Check out the trail-cam images and see what you think.

We’ve got a sambar hunting story, a great tale about taking a child hunting for the first time, an educational tale about hunting pig in an overgrown orchard with a shotgun, and a short story about getting that first buck.

Also find out how you can win a Weatherby rifle with Zerotech scope, some Vanguard optics and a Garmin GPS, all in this latest issue of Sporting Shooter. And it costs only $8.25 online, or $89.10 for a whole year’s worth!
