A swag of new firearms and hunting gear will be on show for the first time in Australia when the SSAA SHOT Expo opens at Melbourne Showgrounds this weekend, 19-20 October.
Big names like Winchester, Swarovski, Hunt the Night, InfiRay, Ridgeline, Sauer, Pro-Tactical, Weatherby, Eagleye Hunting Gear and Hunters Element (and many, many more) will be there in big displays of hunting, shooting and outdoors products — and you’ll be able to get your hands on most of them.
With well over 60 exhibitors in total, you won’t run out of things to see and do in a hurry. The full list of exhibitors is available on the Expo website.
A lot of the gear will be on sale, too, some at special prices so you can probably land more than a couple of bargains.
Some of the highlights we know about include:
- the unveiling of the new Alcor button-release .223 hunting rifle
- the first showing the new Voere X3 tactical rifle
- the debut of some new SmartRest shooting platforms by Eagleye
- the attendance of Rigby staff from the UK, who will not only be setting up the largest display of Rigby firearms ever seen in Australia, but will be able to measure customers in order to tailor a gun to perfectly fit them. Â
The Expo fills the Grand Pavilion at the showgrounds and spills out into the Town Square space, where there will be working gun dogs, an archery range and food stalls.
Daily ticket price are:
- Adults, $28
- Juniors (12-18), $18
- Pensioners, $18
- Kids (under 12), free
- Family (2 adults, 2 juniors), $82
