A young man has been accidentally shot in the head while on a hunting trip in central Tasmania.
The 18-year-old Gagebrook man was shot at Bothwell, about 8.30am with police and paramedics called to the scene.
Luckily for the hunter he was far enough away from the shotgunfor the shot to not be fatal.
The man underwent surgery to remove a pellet from his head. He was reported to be in a stable condition on Saturday afternoon.
