The Pavlov’s Dogs in the Legal Firearms Debate

What is with these anti-gunners?
They sit like vultures, waiting for criminals to use illegal firearms and when it inevitably happens they salivate, just before being given altogether too much air time or column inches in mainstream media to peddle their anti-gun hysteria.
Of course, they aim their emotion-laden invective predictably at licensed, law-abiding firearms owners.
They do this not because they misunderstand; they understand only too well that we are no threat to law, order and democracy. They do this because they are idealogically opposed to personal freedoms in a vibrant, healthy democracy.
They would see the only people armed as the police and military, who would be tools of an idealogue-led socialist state. Consequently they would disarm peaceful and worthy citizens, who value their freedom.
I am mindful of the saying that when a people are armed they are citizens, but when they are disarmed, they are subjects. Think about it.
Meanwhile, take on board the spin promulgated in this SMH Opinion Piece and the Courier Mail article attached. Don’t forget to vote in the Courier Mail online poll in the article.
