The new Browning T-Bolt Varmint is quite a rifle. This .17 HMR is not only a real mansized sniping outfit, it is chambered for the .17HMR, which has set new accuracy standards for rimfire rifles.
ORIGINALLY INTRODUCED IN three different models, all chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the Browning T-Bolt has had six new versions added a .22WMR Sporter and Varmint with walnut stock; and four rifle in .17HMR -a Sporter and Varmint with walnut stock; and their Composite counterparts. All feature blued metalwork and 10-shot Double Helix rotary magazines. They are designed to interest the rimfire hunter who wants top accuracy combined with the flattest trajectory and for the afficionado of fine firearms.
Winchester sent me the T-Bolt Composite Varmint for evaluation and it’s racey looking outfit with the slim European contours, of its black synthetic stock which is more practical for hard use in the field.
