The Socom spring-piston air rifle from the Gamo stable comes complete with a 3-9×40 Airgun scope and has many desirable features.
Modern Gamo air rifles being imported by Highland Sports are justifiably popular being quieter, more accurate and offering high velocity. They require no pumping, nor must one have a supply of CO2 cartridges on hand. There are no valves to go wrong and spring-piston guns need less repair. The barrel cocker has maintained its appeal with shooters because of its rugged simplicity and straightforward operation.
The Gamo Socom is a magnum-class sporter sized to suit teenagers and adult shooters alike. It has an overall length of 1090mm, a pull length of 355mm and tips the scales at 2.75 kgs. Although it boasts 1000fps muzzle velocity, the effort required to cock it is not going to tax the strength of any youngster – male or female.
Gamo’s black synthetic stock is something of a departure from normal styling and is a “Tactical” design. It has racey lines and is distinguished by having a very close, straight pistol grip that swells out to huge proportions. The cheekpiece can be raised or lowered to suit the shooters facial characteristics and is well suited to right and lefthanded shooters alike. The trigger guard is molded to be an integral part of the stock. Molded stippling on fore-end and grip provides a secure surface for a better grasp.
