Parallax adjustment: why it’s important, and do you need it?

Correct parallax ensures your reticle is correctly lined up with your target, something that doesn’t happen automatically even though the crosshairs might look like they’re on target.

Understanding how this works and when you need to adjust parallax can be crucial to putting your bullet where you think it should go.

This video, which is just under seven minutes long, explains parallax in simple but detailed terms.

Part of this is a clever example of how parallax works using your own finger held up in front of you, and if you didn’t understand parallax before doing it, we reckon it’ll create a lightbulb moment for you.

How much difference does it make? We won’t spoil it! You’ll have to watch the video.

It covers what happens when your scope doesn’t have the ability to adjust parallax and explains when that’s OK.

The fact is, not every shooter needs to worry about adjusting the parallax of their scope. But some do!

After watching this video, you’ll have a good idea of whether you need to spend the money on a scope with parallax adjustment or whether it’s a gimmick with no benefits for you.
