Well, I’d been giving my Leatherman MUT Multitool a bit of a hammering of late, cutting through radiator hoses and about 500 tough zip-ties in one mammoth session, so I got onto my friends at Zen Imports to get them to send me this nifty little sharpener.
It comes in a lightweight anodised aluminium casing and the diamond-impregnated shaft is double-ended. One tapered end is for scalloped or serrated blades, the other is not tapered but designed for normal knife sharpening duties and for fish hooks.
The finish is pretty aggressive and it takes steel away very well, so it’s great to get a working edge back on your hunting knife in the field quickly. Strop it on your leather boot afterwards and it’ll be shaving sharp. You just have to do your bit. Have a look at the video below and you’ll see how simple it really is.
You’ll find Smith’s sharpening products in an endless variety if you go onto their Australian distributor’s website www.zenimports.com.au
Ask for them at your local gun shop. Dealer enquiries welcome.
