Bagging a monstrous pig of this size is like winning lotto as young Joshua Cripps explains!
Back in June, my Dad shot the biggest pig on our farm. It was a 250kg boar and exceeded our previous records by one hundred and fifty kilos. Dad was spraying and came across this massive boar on his way back home. He didn’t have a rifle with him, so he called mum (Cathy) to bring the 243. out with her.
After a fifteen minute wait observing this monster, Mum finally arrived with the rifle. Dad chased the fence destroyer two hundred and fifty metres and shot him with one lethal slug in the neck. It is one less sucker now gone!
It was out the back of our big freshwater soak. We farm wheat, canola and lupins and sheep on a 3,600ha farm.
