Now I’ve seen everything and this time it’s from Japan. In what looks like the work of structural engineering ballisticians (??), our friends from Nippon have given us something for the tactical dweeb who has everything – a bulletproof I-Phone casing that will take a direct hit from a .50 Calibre Browning Machinegun round. Just in case you were wondering, they leave the muzzle with more than 13, 000 foot pounds of energy – yes that makes a .338 Lapua look sick.
Readers will no doubt have seen displays in museums of notebooks that have stopped pistol bullets and water bottles that deflect Turkish 8mm bullets but Jeez! – if you were carrying this steel case in your breast pocket, surely a .50 Cal round would drive the whole thing right through your body and the brick wall behind you.
No worries though, because you can then call a triple-0 or 911, or whatever, on your undamaged iPhone.
