WHEN I SET OUT to test the new Bushnell 6500 riflescope, I wanted a rifle whose accuracy was a foregone conclusion and could be relied upon to bring out the best in the new optic. After giving the matter some thought, I decided on a heavy-barreled Savage, being aware that they are exceptionally good shooters. A request to Acacia Imports brought me a Savage Model 10 FCP-HS Precision in .308 Winchester.
