Kahles new lightweight 8×42 hunting binocular

Founded in 1898, over a century later the Austrian firm of Kahles has become known worldwide for the manufacture of top- quality sport optics. Their riflescopes and binoculars enjoy a well-deserved reputation as top-tier glass.
Recent years have seen the company upgrade to employ computer-aided design and space-age materials to realize mutually exclusive attributes: lightweight and optical flawlessness. That accomplishment is soundly demonstrated in a new pair of state-of-the-art hunting binoculars. These are Kahles lightest binoculars yet in the most popular 8×42 and 10×42.

I had the opportunity to field test the 8×42 Kahles during a goat hunt along the Turon river, an area of vast open mountainsides and long distances. Despite the steep, rugged terrain, their weight of 674 grams went unoticed while suspended on a strap around my neck over a long day of glassing and shooting.
