Among a huge selection of firearms, optics, ammunition and associated product, Beretta Australia also distribute a wide selection of game calls for predator hunters. Made by Swedish company Nordik, the range incorporates a large selection of easy to use calls that I’m told have been tried and proven on foxes and other predators with success. There’s even a wild boar call for pig hunters referred to as the Nordik Boar.
For fox hunters there’s the “Crying Lamb” to imitate the call of an injured or stressed lamb, then there’s the Nordik Plain Pain, a mouth call with reed/membrane design that is capable of producing a series of varying pitches via the membranes varying thickness. Depending on which side you blow through, different tones are obtained. Another favourite by many seasoned callers is the Nordik 3-Pack. This package comes complete with three different calls including a Crying Bird, Fox Heat and Mini Predator, all designed to offer a variety of sounds. At the time of writing, I couldn’t actually try these units out in the field for a true evaluation as mating season was in full swing in my area, but I’m sure most would work effectively.
