Queensland’s biggest hunting and outdoors expo is only a month away, giving the state just enough time to get over its State of Origin victory before being treated to an equally exciting display of hunting, shooting, fishing and other fun stuff.
Run by the Australian Deer Association, the expo has grown dramatically in just a few years from a club event to a full blown exhibition that also covers archery, camping, canoeing and more.
The ADA is also hosting a hunters’ dinner on the Saturday night, featuring guest speaker Lu Cervi, who wrote the book Sambar Hunter and is good for more than a laugh or two.
The $50 dinner includes a venison course, and an auction will be conducted featuring an African Safari by Ekuji worth more than $10,000.
Expo entry is $10 (under 13s are free; $30 for a family), and it’s being held on the weekend of 4-5 August at the Morayfield Leisure Centre at 298 Morayfield Rd, Morayfield.
More information is on the expo website.
