The old Sten submachine gun seized by South Australian police.

SA police seize another machine gun

Police have seized another submachine gun in South Australia, this one being a Sten gun with several loaded magazines.

They also say they found a bag of ammunition and a pipe bomb in the home of a man who they believe has links to an outlaw motorcycle gang.

A 33-year-old from Munno Para West has been arrested and charged with a number of firearm offences.

Detectives working with Task Force Alpha, which was responsible for busting a machine-gun making operation last week, made the arrest after searching the man’s house.

When the pipe bomb was found, police cordoned off the area while specialists from the Explosives Coordination Section dealt with it.

The Sten was in delapidated but apparently workable condition, while some of the magazines and ammunition showed signs of corrosion.
